Wallpaper Maker

There are a number of methods people choose to customize their phone, most popular being ringtones and wallpaper. While we’ve already covered a number of different options for ringtones, there hasn’t been much of anything for creating personalized wallpapers. With the Wallpaper Maker, that is no longer a problem.

The Wallpaper Maker is a mobile photo and image visualizer that allows users to create personalized wallpapers for their mobile phone. Using over 50 effects, it is an in-phone studio where you can manipulate photos taken with the phone’s camera or others that have been downloaded to the phone as well as creating original works of art.

The three ways to create a wallpaper are Basic, Advanced and Auto. Basic creates a wallpaper using the application’s image effects only. These range from psychedelic colors to moving patterns that remind me of the effects you see when playing music through the Windows Media Player. Advanced lets you mix your own photos with the above effects to create one-of-a-kind pop art. Auto blends effects automatically and forms very strange creations. These are all cool but you’ll probably get the most use out of the Advanced mode.

In the Advanced mode, you can take a picture from the phone’s camera or use one that is already stored. (Stock photos are also available and can be downloaded.) When the photo has been chosen, you can then choose to mix in the effect image in front of or behind your picture. If you choose in front, the effect will be superimposed above your photo. If you choose behind, you will use an eraser to remove unwanted elements of the picture and the effect chosen will show up only in those areas. The effects will have movement and will freeze when you press the OK button. This way, you can always have different looks to the same picture.

When you are done mixing the images, you are the given the option to add borders, clip art and text to your new creation. Once completed, it can be saved to your gallery (free), or saved as an actual wallpaper (1 credit.) Don’t worry about the credit since you will receive a number of them when the app is purchased for this reason. A cool feature is that you can also choose to upload your image to a community gallery where other users can view, rate and download to redesign that wallpaper.

The Wallpaper Maker is an easy and fun way to create cool images to use on your mobile phone and share with others. Some people might be tired by now of the generic wallpapers find just about everywhere, or lackluster personal pictures that could be more creative.
